What gets saved to record in the summary?

This article explains how to control what summary text is written to the patient record when a clinician signs off a request.

This depends on your settings for the save-to-record summary source.

What is this setting?

When a clinician signs off a patient request and saves it to the patient's record, Anima needs to decide what summary text to write. This is a centrally configurable setting for your organisation, rather than being fixed.

Under Settings → Organisation setting search for 'summary' to find the option, you can choose between:

  • Annie summary — the AI-generated clinical summary produced by Annie

  • Generated report — the standard report text generated from the patient's questionnaire answers

How to change it

  1. Go to Settings → Orgabisation Settings

  2. Search for Summary

  3. Under Patient Requests you'll see what's currently configured for your practice

  4. Toggle to use the Annie summary or deterministic report

  5. Your changes will appear under Pending changes before saving — review these, then confirm to apply.

Note: Only users with write permissions on organisation settings can change this.

Why would I change this?

Different practices have different preferences here:

  • Some prefer Annie's summary for its conciseness and clinical structure.

  • Others prefer the generated report text, as it maps more directly to what the patient actually submitted.

This setting lets you choose the option that best fits your practice's workflow — and changing it will only affect requests signed off going forward; it won't retroactively change anything already saved to the record.
