What is this page?
When you log into Anima, you’ll be shown your dashboard. The dashboard contains all the active patient requests at your practice. You can action all patient requests directly from your dashboard, and access all other parts of the Anima platform, including your user settings and contacting patients.
Stats Cards at the Top of the Dashboard
The stats cards, displayed at the top of the dashboard will give you a quick overview of requests that were submitted today, as well as any requests that are currently assigned to you.
From left to right the stats cards indicate:
All requests (today) — Submitted, In Progress, Finalised, Limit
Medical (today) — Submitted, Finalised, Limit
Admin (today) — Submitted, Finalised, Limit
Assigned to you — Requests and Tasks counts
Dashboard Tabs
The main dashboard has several distinct tabs:
Requests - Any active patient requests at your practice.
Tasks - Any tasks which have been assigned. These could be related to either Triage (patient request) tasks, or to Documents tasks.
Conversation - Any active conversations. Conversations are always started by someone at your practice (e.g. GP) with a patient.
Automations - Any requests which were automatically handled and closed by Anima. Today this means Pharmacy First referrals only. (Please note if this has not been enabled for your practice you will not be able to see this).
Closed Items - Any requests which have been completed and closed.
What does a patient’s request tab show me?
The patient requests tab shows a list of all active patient requests at your practice with basic information about each request, such as the patient’s name and information, the type of request they have submitted, when their request was submitted, and its status. The table shows actionable requests by default.
You can assign patient requests to different staff members at your practice by clicking the icon in the assign column and selecting from the list.
When you click on a patient’s request, a side panel will appear displaying the most important information from a patient’s request to help you make a decision quickly. Double click the patient request to bring up more information.
Filters:
You can customise the appearance of this page using the filter button at the top of the page. This opens a side panel with many different configurations the user can select:
Urgency (e.g. show urgent requests first)
Request Status (Actionable / Pending / Closed, plus high priority and overdue)
Request type (medical, admin, routine, non-routine, etc.)
Mobility, Proxy, Request Origin
Assigned (me only, me + my teams, specific teams/users, unassigned, etc.)
If you create and save a new filter configuration, it will appear in the left hand menu underneath ‘Dashboard’ with a name of your choosing.
You can also choose to use one of the present Dashboard request view already created, such as ‘My team’s requests’ found under Dashboard on the left hand menu.
What does a request’s status mean?
All patient requests have a status that will be displayed in the dashboard. There are several different status labels a request can have:
New request
Need info
Waiting for accept
Info added
Plan accepted / Plan rejected
Case closed
The status of a request will also be colour-coded according to its urgency - i.e. if the patient has reported high-risk symptoms in their request, the status of their request will display as red.
By default, your dashboard will only show requests that have not yet been resolved, i.e. requests that have not been signed off. To also view requests that have been resolved, select the ‘All requests’ view on the left hand menu underneath ‘Dashboard’.
How do I find a patient quickly?
You can search by patients by name or condition by using the search box at the top of the dashboard.
You can also sort your dashboard using the columns - click the column titles to sort by name, status, submitted, last updated date & time, or by assign.
Top tip: Use the keyboard shortcut / to the activate search box and begin typing.
Viewing patient information in the dashboard side panel
Clicking once on a patient’s request will display a side panel next to your dashboard. This side panel will give you a summary of the patient’s request to help you quickly assess how the patient is doing.
This will vary slightly depending on the patient’s particular request or indication, but for medical requests will usually include:
Patient Details: Indication, NHS number, Date of birth, Sex, Usual GP.
Triage Score: Risk, Symptoms, and Adherence are grouped here, and are colour coded Red, Amber, Green based on severity. Users can hover over the coloured tab bars to reveal a summary (e.g. hover of the risk colour bars to see a quick summary pop up).
Risk: This is calculated by Anima based on what the patient has reported in their request, and is represented as a colour-coded status bar.
Symptoms: The incidence and severity of the patient’s symptoms. This is calculated by Anima based on what the patient has reported in their request, and is represented as a colour-coded status bar.
Adherence: Only visible for some chronic conditions, and refers to how well the patient is sticking to their treatment.
How to read the Triage score bars
Filled bars | Score | For Risk / Symptoms | For Adherence (reversed) |
1 bar | 1 | Low (green) | Poor (red) |
2 bars | 2 | Medium (amber) | Poor (red) |
3 bars | 3 | Medium (amber) | Acceptable (amber) |
4 bars | 4 | High (red) | Good (green) |
5 bars | 5 | High (red) | Good (green) |
Users can use the edit button if they wish to make a change.
Risk Indicators: The colour-coded tiles beneath display the most important information for that patient’s indication based on what the patient has reported in their request. The colours of these tiles allow you to assess the patient’s status at a glance. For example, tiles for a patient who has submitted an asthma review would include tiles for their ACT score and their rescue use.
Green tiles indicate that this indicator is well controlled; red tiles indicate that this indicator may be a cause for further investigation or discussion.
Summary: A summary of the patient’s history and current request, written by Annie AI.
Review History: Displays a graph showing the patient’s risk, symptom and adherence scores over time (depending on how many requests the patient has submitted for that indication). This allows you to easily identify trends and spot deterioration early.
Urgent Attention Banner: An urgent attention banner will appear for urgent requests.
