Overview
This article explains how to link your Anima account to your EHR so you can:
Save documents directly to the patient record
Finalise requests in Anima
This will need to be done by all users logging into Anima for the first time.
How to connect your EHR
Open the Anima Desktop app and log in. See this article on how to download the Anima desktop app.
Go to Settings (bottom left) → Personal Settings → Personal Details
Open your EMIS or S1.
Back in Anima, in the boxes you see in the middle of the screen, enter your:
EMIS username and password, or
SystmOne (S1) username
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save changes
Scroll up and under where you typed in your username and password, Click Test
Check your connection
After clicking Test, you should see:
✅ “Success!” (for EMIS)
✅ “Logged in as [Practice name]!” (for SystmOne)
If you see this message, your connection is working correctly.

Troubleshooting
The test fails
Check that EMIS / SystmOne is open
Double-check your username and password
Make sure there are no extra spaces when copying details
I don’t see a success message
Try clicking Save changes again before testing
Log out and back into Anima, then retry
Still not working
Contact your Anima administrator or support team
